Re: Linn 9000 and its synth friends
When I Google'd "stock aitken and waterman studio", one of the first results was this website with photos from 1989:
http://www.lessharma.com/pwl-studios-pe ... erman.html
It's hard to tell from the small photos, but in one photo, I do spy a rack with Oberheim Matrix 1000, Akai S900 and a couple of Yamaha TX802s.
EDIT: I just DL'd the large photos and there's a keyboard room with Roland Jupiter 8, Emu Emulator II, Akai MPC60 and Korg DS-8.
What I thought was a Matrix 1000 was actually the Oberheim DPX-1 sample player. And there's also a D-550 in the rack and couple of single space Roland units above it that I can't make out.

Re: Linn 9000 and its synth friends
very interesting indeed....TX802 S for bass duties.
cant say that the oberhiem played much of a part as ive had one....cant see it fitting in
Korg DS 8...will look into that one.
akai mp60 would have thought a Linn 9000.
yes can see where the D 550 works....and Jupiter 8 say no more.
Emulator for vocal duties and efffffffects...DPX for back up.
cheers for the help Z.

The Korg DS-8 is a 4 op FM synth. Korg bought the rights from Yamaha to use FM in the DS-8 and 707.princefan3 wrote: Korg DS 8...will look into that one.
Remember, those photos are from 1989. The MPC60 just came out in 1988. I'm pretty sure they used the Linn 9000 on earlier tracks. SAW and that type of music is really not my area of knowledge.akai mp60 would have thought a Linn 9000.
