the JUNO 60 has to be the synth that takes you back in time...barring a JUP 8 it has to be top 3.
its a shame that the 60 does not have split keys, as i do find i love the bass patches but would also like to play
some classic brass stabs at the same time..
i was wondering what other synth you would play along with her to obtain some early synth funk stabs. ive had a JX3P but it didnt do it for me....i was watching some early CAMEO tracks.
they had a tv-1 oberheim....korg 700....and some arp....looked like they were playing the synth stabs with the oberheim...
the 700 would have only done a bass line and the arps are too sharp and nasal for a poly stabb.
what do you think.

I'd say a Hammond Novachord takes you back in time rather effectively.
MU Modular (Moog, Dotcom, STG, Analog Systems, and Moon modules), MS20 (x2), Microbrute, Electribes (EA-1, EMX), microKorg, AN1x, Nord Lead 2x, Blofeld, Alpha Juno 2, DX7, JX8P, Poly 61 (x2), Split 8, TR-505, Monotron Delay, Ace Tone FR-3, Paia Fatman

Which ARP? Most are monophonic, but the Quadra is poly. I've seen videos of Lakeside with one or two ARP Quadras. I can't remember what they used them for, but I'm sure they'd be find for stabs. It is my understanding that the overdriven chords at the beginning and throughout "Abacab" were done with the Quadra.

I've got a Korg Polysix. I am of the opinion that the Polysix and the Juno used to be twins, but they became different when the Polysix was possessed by a demon. They play great together; the Juno is better for smooth, polished, futuristic sounds and the Polysix for very dark, brooding, organic textures. I sold my 106 for a Polysix, but now I see the strengths of both instruments. I do not believe that one can replace the other, and I would like to own both.
Comparison is the thief of joy.
