i adore my VFX-SD but have been using its transwaves too much, i need more! so i went through the manuals of all the transwave synths and compiled a list of just the transwaves from the wave lists. a Fizmo is out of my price range at this moment, so based on my research i just got an MR Rack. unfortunately you can’t edit much from the front panel and i’m going to have to find an editor (preliminary experiments with the MIDIQuest demo didn’t work...). the MR series also has the EXP expansion boards which i’ve heard add even more transwaves!? i don’t have the manuals for those though. if anyone has more data for me i’ll add it to this post.
i didn't list all the redundant models in each series, you can fill in the blanks (SQR = SQ1, etc.)
there's also The Art of Transwaves CD-ROM for the ASR-10, didn't list that.

Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists
Wow, I'm surprised the list for TS10 is so short since it was the follow-on to the VFX.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists
i know, it's interesting that they reduced the number of transwaves in their synths before finally increasing it.
(the list is in the order that the synths were produced)

Is the Sd-1 list the same as the VFX list?
Didn't realize the MR was that well stocked.

Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists
I think you can use sound diver, or the sound diver fizmo to edit the Mr rack. I see some option for it when I log on, and I think you can download it from fizmotropolis
This looks like a psychotropic reaction. No wonder it's so popular...

Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists
It's been a number of years since I've been without it, but I seem to recall that the SQR+ 32 Voice module had a few more transwaves additional to the SQR list. The Formant, Planet, and Resonant waves I remember well, and used them in quite a few sounds. Rather miss them on occasion.

Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists
i don't have the manual for the SD-1, always thought it was pretty much the same as the VFX-SD, could be wrong though. the MR series seems like a sleeper to me, lots of transwaves but very limited editing from the front panel (can't even change the waveform). also not even listed on VSE!
thanks for the sound diver tip ninja6485! i found the link, will give that a try if i fail with MIDIQuest, i'd have to put together a "vintage" computer which is not exactly what i do for fun.
interesting about the SQR+ 32, i can't find the manual for that one either. indeed the Planet, Formant, and Resonant transwaves are so great sounding, along with Omega. i've used those so much, that's why i need more!

I checked, the SD-1/32 has the same transwave list as the VFX-SD

Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists
Got a request to make an update on this. MIDIQuest did not work for me at all (surprise, surprise), really glad for the tip from Ninja6485 to try the free Fizmo SoundDiver editor available at http://www.ugoaudio.com/fizmo/ because upon startup you can load a template for MR Rack! It worked immediately! So I have my MR Rack editing system but haven't used it much yet, plan to this winter some.

Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists
REVELATION is shown on its disk as being a transwave for the ASR-10, but I can't make it do anything. I don't think it will currently do anything as the loopstart & end are both the same as the samplestart & end points so the loop can't be shifted in the sample unless I have the methodology completely wrong.
Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists
You got that right ramjet.
Any sample can be made into a Transwave in the EPS-16 Plus and ASR-10 by adjusting those parameters.
I am currently 'in my lab' diving deeper into this transwave matter with the EPS-16 Plus and I am amazed.
Robin.

Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists
Does anyone know of a list or lists of the Transwaves in the Ensoniq EXP cards? Tom Ellard in his web site says the MR Rack + EXP 3 = Fizmo (all the Transwaves) but does not provide a list of the additions.
Nymph, in thy orisons be all my synths remembered.

Re: Ensoniq Transwaves - complete wave lists
OK, so next question, are the Transwaves from the other Ensoniqs available as samples so they can be loaded into these keyboards?Any sample can be made into a Transwave in the EPS-16 Plus and ASR-10 by adjusting those parameters.
Or more generally does anyone know if the Transwaves are available as samples full stop?
I don't see in my TS-10 manual how to save a transwave, but could we make a patch that plays each wave one time, and record the output and this?
