Mc 202 with other gear

Post by princefan3 » Wed Jan 14, 2015 7:48 pm

Hi all...I'm just about to get hold of a 202 but a bit worried about syncing it with my other gear...I've heard it runs out of timing.

I want to enjoy its sequencer and I'm not into slides or accents much, I'm into it's raw sound.

Want it to sync with my 707 RZ1 and TB3.....these are all midi machines...how would I best go about getting it into time...?

Thank you.

If you have the 707 as master, it can output din sync and midi simultaneously :thumbright: For DAW sync you need midi-din sync conversion (although "tightness" is another can of worms in that situation)

The problem you've probably read about is regarding cv/gate controlling it - the cv/gate inputs are only there to program the sequencer originally (so you can use a keyboard instead of the internal mini keyboard), thus you get "quantization" when sequencing externally. There are mods to bypass that.

:D :D Hi Pflosi.....This sounds great...Therefore I must use DIN cables and not midi cables for it...to sync...that has helped me to rest some more...Thanks mate.
