I gotten a hold of a Multivox MX-2000 Duo but cannot find a manual anywhere.
Now the manual for the Roland SH-2000 has been much help in how to use knobs and switches, but it lacks the rear inputs/outputs of the Multivox.
For example it has an input jack where I have connected my Korg Lambda and is able to tweak sound via the Multivox.
Two inputs/outputs however I don't what to do with.
1) V.C.F. Freq
2) Ext Gate
Is there anyone with knowledge of these port types, that can give me some examples of use.
Also if anyone knows where to obtain a manual, please let me know.
Thanks

Feed it a control voltage and you can adjust the filter cutoff.DKDiveDude wrote:1) V.C.F. Freq
Feed it a gate and you can trigger the synth without touching the keyboard.DKDiveDude wrote:2) Ext Gate
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Ok thank you very much for the reply, however where do I get a "control voltage" and a "gate" from?
Another synthesizer's output or a special circuitry?

Control voltages can come from other keyboards, sequencers, expression pedals, external LFOs or other CV generating gear.
Gates and Triggers can come from other synths, sequencers, drum machines or other external gear gear with pulse triggers.
In this video, I'm sending control voltages from the SH-101's sequencer to control the filter cut-off of the System 1M which the TR-606 is being fed into. Pulse triggers are being sent from the drum machine to the SH-2 (producing the bass sound off camera) gate input.

Now that is what I call "Helpful", thank a bunch. Now you write from SH-101's sequencer, but could I then connect the output of my Korg Lambda to the VCF Freq input of the Multivox, and then tweak sound via the Lambda's filter knobs?

The Lambda does not have any CV outs.DKDiveDude wrote: Now that is what I call "Helpful", thank a bunch. Now you write from SH-101's sequencer, but could I then connect the output of my Korg Lambda to the VCF Freq input of the Multivox, and then tweak sound via the Lambda's filter knobs?

Ok so anything with a "CV Out" can be connected to the "VCF Freq" input.
Now I'm just going to find a synth that has that output, thanks.

Yes, most analog mono synths have CV & Gate Ins and Outs. The VCF Freq input on your synth was most commonly used with an expression pedal as I'm doing in this video:

Here's another video where I use a step sequencer to control the filter cut off:
