Diseased Roland Juno 60

Post by zequ » Mon Dec 28, 2015 4:50 am

Hello everybody.

I got this keyboard from my sister which she's had forever. It's been used quite alot but now it's just noises coming out of it : warbles and hisses.

I can change the noise a bit with the knobs and sliders but pressing the keys generates not additional noise or tones.

Sliding up the white noise slider adds more noise.

The DCO wave buttons add hum but not very much.

most all the buttons work but not the keyboard.

I just want to ask if this might be the CPU that is fried.

Another interesting phenomenon is when I press down on the LFO TRIG MODE switch, the LEDs for HOLD, ARPEGGIO ON/OFF and the DCO LEDs turn off.

Welcome to the forum. Troubleshooting usually starts with the power supply. Bad voltages there can lead to an array of problems. Once the power supply is checked, there may be other issues to track down. You will need to let a good tech look at it.
