Micron piano

Post by groverpants » Fri Jul 15, 2016 2:58 pm

It seems the Micron piano has been a bit of a Holy Grail ever since people starting using Microns. Various bits of instruction exist online and I never found them to sound anything much like a piano or like samples posted online that were supposed to have been created using said instructions. But I stumbled across this old video and found it best of all, in spite of the fact that it's in Japanese!

The guy gives so many closeups of the settings as he changes them that it's fairly easy to follow in spite of the language barrier. One caveat is that I found almost at the very end the sound took a turn for the weird, so if you were going to follow his step-by-step I would recommend trying the sound out continually and saving only when you still like what you hear, and if the same thing happens to you that happened to me, just turn the thing off rather than saving the last few steps.
