Post by vcs3 » Fri Jul 03, 2015 10:35 pm

Hi,
there is a guy selling a Polyevolver with the encoders problems.
What is the problem and how can it be fixed?
Thank you in advance.

The problem is that they go forward when they're supposed to be going backward, skip values, move slowly. It's pretty annoying. You can fix it by opening up the board and putting a couple of drops of deoxit on the troublesome encoders, or you can replace the whole control board and not have to worry about it any more, which costs US$400 http://store.davesmithinstruments.com/p ... php?cat=13

The first batch of Poly Evolvers, and MEKs all had this. I did the Deoxit procedure twice to mine. I eventually ended up getting a PE version, which is infinitely better.
