In my setup at the moment Ive got some gear that I want to sync.
Ok, this is how it goes: my R8 is the master midi clock, which is connected through midi out to a MicroKorg which goes to a Lexicon processor to a KP2 and so comes my problem, Ive got a Virus C that I want to sync up to my setup, but the midiIn is used by a midi controller.
What to do?
Do I need a midiword clock?
Is there anyway of reconnecting my setup.... or just rely on audio inputs for the virus... or just sell the infernal machine....
sorry all my words but I like to rant...
how do I midi sync my equipment?

Do you really have to midi-sync your effects? Or want to, I guess.
What midi controller are you using? Does it have in/out/thru or only out?

Do what Mitch says, a simple MIDI merger would work as well.
What you want to do is merge two input streams, the chain you describe plus the midi controller, into one signal, as the Virus only has one input.
Always found it a missed opportunity that all this MIDI gear come with only basic three connectors, IN, OUT and THRU.
I would love to have IN1, IN2, OUT, THRU1, THRU2 and OUT+THRU1. Now that would give some options, without buying all sorts of extra boxes.
