I like the tube screamer TS9DX on most things, even at low settings it adds a little gritty sparkle.
i am looking for something that will get me that crunch of autechre or aphex..i like how they used distortion..my music is similair but i have been clean for far too long...need to dirty it up a bit.
Re: need a distortion pedal for drum machine
if you really want your drums to die a messy death, try a sherman filterbank.seeker wrote:hello,

Maybe the Electrix Filter Factory would worth checking. Not as powerful as the Filterbank but much more affordable (especially on eBay). Alesis Philtr is also very affordable... I recently got one but had no time to try it out.

Yep, try an MS20 and a Marshall full stack.
Or the Guitar Rig software.
Or a POD or a clone of it.
There are some pedals which sounds great for Drums or Synths but no guitar player wants them, so you can get them for cheap: Ibanez SM7, Marshall Jackhammer, Shredmaster, Boss OD-2, Nobels DTXN, older Coron, MXRs, korg 104, EH Doublemuff...
The pandora1 is very hot, too.
If You want that totally smashed sound you can chain two distortions.
Try EQs Pre and Post Dist. or -hit me- a Chorus or Phaser!
Or build a feedbackloop with a 3rd EQ in wrong direction.
if you don´t like, that now the noise is as loud as your Drumjuice you have to use a gate or expander . You can use the undistorted or delayed Sound or completely others as key for the sidechain.
Use your phantasy and you will get the best results.
