What software arps are you guys using for your hardware synths that don't have one?

arps?

timewARP2600

I don't have $4000 lying around to spend on a vintage monosynth fx monster, so I use the software version and run it through the Sherman and it gets me there, sort of :) it certainly sounds "older", raspier, and far more analog than the software by itself...

OH ummm...do you mean arpeggios????

a PC's CPU clocks aren't necessarily designed to drive music sequencers in perfect sync and groove. That's one reason why there's a market for masterclock rack units. I can't stand the timing on even a < 3 GHz PC/Mac

I trust hardware only, brother. I use a FR-777 (similar to the Mobius) to drive the Moog arps and the Sherman via CV. It's Korg EMX(masterclock) and ESX for multitrack stuff.

Even though my hardware synths have one, I still liked the one in Cubase SX3 (Arpache SX) quite a bit... (now sold) but the one in Ableton's much more intuitive IMHO.

haha yea, i meant arpeggiators.

I really like the arpeggiator in the Virus TI vst. I was hoping I could find something like that.

Ableton Live all the way! It's very stable and accurate.

You may want to give this a look. Haven't tried it (yet) but it looks promising. Similar to the Ableton live arp mentioned above.

Look at something like ARPocalypse or MIDIoz Arp Lite 1.1 for midi and AnalogX Arpeggiator for audio.

A bit of topic but I was messing around with an Oberhiem Cyclone last night which can do some pretty unusual stuff like individual key velocity accenting.
Whilst we’re here does anyone know of any chord progression type software preferably as a MIDI fx plugin or Dxi/VST?

I tried arp4midi and could not figure out how to correctly route the midi...

Arpcolypse works but isn't really what I'm looking for
