I realize that Reaktor, Max MSP, Kyma, etc exist, but aside from kyma and MSP I'm not exactly sure if there are any capable of controlling hardware units. Basically I desire something in the vein of the nord modular g1 or g2 software that can send midi to hardware synths. I pretty much just want a bunch of clock dividers, sequencers, pulse width modulatable clock sources, switches, and, most importantly, quantizers to play around with.
We'll always be remembered, we'll always be dismembered.

Jeskola Buzz, MU:LAB and the aforementioned KYMA/Max/MSP are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Not sure if I understand fully, and maybe I'm being a little daft by answering in the following manner...
All the DAW software I work with (live, digital performer, logic, pro tools) all have midi capable features. I route midi to my hardware from the DAW all the time, along with quantizing, and what have you.
Numerology is quite the sequencing package; Reaktor will allow you to build things like this, as does Max/MSP. They both have a huge following, and therefore many pre-made ensembles that you can download and use at will. I don't know about Kyma, so I can't speak to that.

+1 for numerology .
Takes a little time to get used to it's flow , but it's the sequencer tool box .

When I say quanitizing I don't mean it in the traditional timing correction sense. Basically quanitizer modules for modular synths for instance take incoming cv and spit out cv quantized to a musical scale. Sort of like a sample and hold, but the staircase pattern your getting is actually melodic. Its pretty damn cool, but I gave up on the eurorack ones after I kept getting annoying clicks. This is pretty much the reason I'm searching for a software alternative. I'm probably just going to pick up another micrmodular though, despite the lack of midi out.silikon wrote:

I would pick it up, but sadly its Mac only.loungedumore wrote:+1 for numerology .

Re: software modular sequencing enviroments?
this will do your quantizing, not sure about the other stuff
