Geez, another day another new Analogue Solutions synth.

What is with this guy anyway? Seems he keeps repackaging the same circuits into new formats (which is OK) in search of just the right combination that will sell by the truckload.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

I don't see Roland or Korg getting that criticism..

Surely it should be more about what it sounds like?.. Sounds pretty good to me

You must not follow teh webz much ;)

No, seriously I have been checking out AS gear for a while (I do own one of his Concussor modules) and have watched him roll out one model after another, all based on the same Concussor circuits....Black Coffee, Red Square (2 versions), Semblance (2 versions), Telemark, Leipzig (2 versions), Vostok (3 versions) , X Station, Y Station, etc. just in the last 8 years.

I just happen to find that curious.

Actually.. probably not the greatest examples.. how about Moog?.. ;)
There is a lot of work that goes into designing these machines.. it's always a toss up between delivering new variants or completely new designs.. the danger with the latter is that you only bring out a new product every 5 years..

I happen to know that the Polymath has been 2 1/2 years in the making and with newly designed oscillators filter etc would have added at least another year onto the R+D.. would it have made a better product?.. very debatable and might not have even made it to production.

I still think it's pretty impressive for a one man company.. and the bottom line is they sound great

Looks and sounds great, but £2899? Ouch.

The price surprised me a bit too. But you are getting an Oberkorn ($1100) built in.

Wasn't the four voice Semblance over $2000?

2899 GBP, mind... which is well over 4.5k USD... and that's without tax and delivery. VAT here takes that to a gnat's pube over £3400... and that's an imperial f*cktonne of sheets, however much fun.
