My latest intrumental cover. I was playing around with my recently-acquired Yamaha 01X mixer / control surface and this is what happened... If, like me, you grew up in Continental Europe in the 80s, you will know this song!
Edit: new mix (15 Mar 2014)

Great cover!
I also grew in continental europe.
Allways wonder how the voice-like lead was made.

Greate production, and great sounds too. Wish you had increased the bass for a little more power, but it is very authentic this way.
As a note; I live next door to Ulf, the keyboardist of Secret Service here in Stockholm. He is still active and runs a small studio. Very nice guy.

Re: "Flash in the night" cover
That'll be XTC Productions AB in Älvsjö, right? I have always regarded Ulf Wahlberg (and Tim Norell) as a major influence on my keyboard playing and arrangements. "Cutting Corners" still ranks as one of my favourite albums of all time; OK, Secret Service's lyrics were full of grammatical errors and Ola Håkansson's heavily double-tracked vocals often left to be desired but hey, who cares?! The songs were catchy and the sounds they got out of their SCI Prophet 10 & Pro-1 (according to Micke) were fantastic. I discovered them in 1982, when "Flash in the night" was used as the theme tune for a French TV programme, although "Oh Susie" had been a minor hit a couple of years before. I still like their music 30 years on and am lucky enough to have picked up their albums on Russian bootleg CDs.Lackan110f wrote:Greate production, and great sounds too.
