Looking for Casiotone CT202 Manual

Post by knolan » Wed Mar 25, 2020 12:52 am

I wonder if anyone has a Casiotone CT-202 Instructional Manual you could scan / photocopy for me? I'd pay fot the service.

Bought one of those little beauty recently - it really is a lovely keyboard (my first ever keyboard as a Casiotone 1000P which I still have and still love too), so have a soft spot for these.

The manual isn't crucial to using the instrument, but would be lovely to have for completeness. Not a trace of it online after extensive searches; and Casio themselves utterly useless in this regard.

Thanks,
Kevin.

Not a single Casio 202 manual to be found on the Web. It's almost worth it - to have found a search term that provides no web links whatsoever! :-). I've just found the 'end' of the Web!

This was the closest I found, but it seems all his manuals are offline (probably when Dropbox changed all their links) - might be worth telling him and he can fix it...

No 202, but 102, and 201 are there...

Thanks a million for looking Desmond - appreciated.

It's a bit curious there isn't a manual online - this was quite a popular little keyboard at the time. In fact it's still quite a strong sounding instrument - on a par with Yamaha's CE20 and 25 - their forerunners to the DX7 and 9 in my opinion - so one might have imagined a manual appearing online somewhere!

For these things, manuals won't be in electronic form, so it usually requires a dedicated passionate owner (eg like yourself) to scan theirs and put it online for others, or, the actual company to invest in getting it's old manuals online (some companies are better than others about doing this).

Hopefully these kinds of posts on forums and social media will reach other owners who scan their copies and make them available. Then we can put them on the Internet Archive (which already has a large collection of synth manuals) and everybody benefits in the long run...

I hope you find one, and if you do, scan it so others don't have the same problem in the future... :thumbright:

Also, there are a few on ebay, but none with manuals, unfortunately.

It's worth keeping an eye on there, and if one comes up with a manual, it might be worth contacting the seller to see if they can scan, photocopy, or lend it to you - or just buying another one as a backup.. ;)
