AWOLNATION Synth

Hi,

Completely new to synths and sound design...trying to figure out the lead synth sound playing the theme in “Sail” by AWOLNATION....with that mod wheel vibrato at the end of the phrase...like I said I am new and tried figuring it out.

If anyone can give me a step by step instructions list on how to set up NI Massive or perhaps one of the Ableton Live instruments that would be AWESOME! Or any info on which synths he used in the studio...anything would most likely be useful...even how to get the mod wheel vibrato setting to match.

The plucky stringy stabby sound that sounds kind of like a windows error?

Sounds like saw wave oscillator with no filtering. It also sounds like it may have some overdrive, like feeding back the output into external instrument in like you can do with a MiniMoog.

I think this is a good path to venture on...I'll give it a go...I've been layering different saw synth presets, trying to find the same texture, but I do think the overdrive could help. Thank you for your insight!

If anybody else has anything to help out, please do!

Oh, almost forgot...what about the vibrato at the end of the phrase...controlled via the modwheel...any help on how to configure that correctly?
