Just recently bought a DX7s.
The LCD display illuminates but has very low contrast.
Anyone know a way of adjusting this?
Cheers,
Mark

Hi the display itself has no adjustment, you'll have to go on the circuit board and adjust VR1
look at the attached schematic. Its a small potentiometer that you can adjust with a precision (or small) screwdriver. Hope it helps

Re: Yamaha DX7s Low Contrast Display
If it doesn't, consider replacing the display. There are OLED ones available - they are not very expensive and easy to install.
At least not on the DX21, but I doubt it will be much more complicated on the DX7s.
Concerning the DX21 I am speaking out of experience since the display went bad and I replaced it with an OLED display. Probably I'll have to do it on my DX7IID as well sooner or later.
Don't forget to TURN ON THE SYNTHESIZER. Often this is the reason why you get no sound out of it. - ARP 2600 manual, 1971
