I just got a Roland MSQ-100 and it looks nice but it doesn't function too nice. After an afternoon with this thing I have found myself very frustrated. All the function on the MSQ seem to bee working but when I go to play back what I played, nothing happens. The MSQ display screen shows that measures are being played but nothing is being played on my Juno 106. I hooked up the correct midi ins and outs and made sure both were on channel 1. I tried different midi cables and I even tried a Moog Little Phatty. STILL my MSQ isn't working correctly. I seems as tho it is either not reading what I am playing or not playing back what I recorded.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so or if not, does anyone know how to fix it?
My Roland MSQ-100, a user error or a big turd?

This won’t help but I’m having the exact same issue. So either we’re both doing something fundamentally wrong or this is a fairly common problem.
