So my Juno 106 is not receiving Sysex data it seems. I have a Juno 106 plugin to control loaded in Ableton with the output to the midi cable connected to the Juno, and the switch on III. Everytime I switch a parameter and send the settings the Juno does nothing. Ive been able to in a certain iteration change the patch, but no luck changing actual parameters. It's an earlier Juno(march 1984) could that be a potential problem?

If the switch is set to III it should be working! You can change patches and trigger notes? Then MIDI is generally working. Maybe the Midi mode switch is a bit rusty... Maybe try a different editor software?

Need more information. Ableton will only transmit SysEx via Max for Live. Do you have that? What is the plugin?

the midi does work I can trigger and have it play midi from Ableton.Mesmerised wrote: ↑Thu Mar 31, 2022 1:23 pmIf the switch is set to III it should be working! I've been using this plugin which makes Ableton able to transmit patch and slider information via sysex, or thats what I'm under the impression it does. I have had some luck changing the presets using one of iterations of this plugin, but thats it. No slider info gets transmitted when I change it in the plugin.

Just checking- have you read the comments under that post? There have been two updates since it was first posted. And no confirmation that the most recent one (2016) is still functional.
Re: Juno 106 not receiving Sysex
Good call, Ive seen a more recent one, but this is from 2018. Ableton 11 does support sysex, but I probably have to make my own device or find another
thanks

Re: Juno 106 not receiving Sysex
To be clear, only Live 11 Suite supports SysEx. Live 11 Standard does not. But I assume this plugin would not even launch without Max anyway!
Pretty cool plugin. If it was me, I'd sell the Juno and look at a modern analogue such as Novation Peak, or even a Prophet or Waldorf. The Juno sounds great but is so limited IMHO. But that's just me

Yea I have the suite version, and max. It's weird that I can change patches with it but not sliders.
sacrilege haha, I love my Juno so much probably will never get rid of it. Its not really conditional having these functions it would just be nice.
