Hi all, maybe someone can help me out here. I've replaced the rubber contacts on the keybed of my poly-61 numerous times and they still fail after awhile, not to mention the price of them has skyrocketed from a few existing sources.
Just wondering, if another keyboard (keybed) can be adapted to work in the poly-61? I know the DW could be a fit but, I can seem to find any used/broken ones.
I can tap the used markets and get a controller or older type keyboard for the price of a few rubber contacts.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Re: Korg Poly-61 replacement keyboard
Hi crafter,
why are the contacts failing ? Is the graphite worn out ?
Sorry I have no idea about a keyboard replacement.

Re: Korg Poly-61 replacement keyboard
Yes, I've replaced a few last year and they are now failing again. No amount of cleaning the contacts seems to help. So I want to replace the keyboard and be done with it once and for all. I've also tried the grommet trick inserted in the keys but same issue due to the failing rubber contacts
any ideas appreciated,
thanks

Re: Korg Poly-61 replacement keyboard
Hmm , could it be that the replacement strips were already worn out?
I have never tried sound doctorin's grommets, so I can not comment about their durability.
I would suggest to try re-graphite the contacts, if you dont have any other solution.
I use this:

and usually I have good results.
I dont recommend using caikote 44 beacuse it is very conductive and it can cause ghost triggering.
The graphite spray is very tedious to use, but I have managed to find a techinque that works for me.
If you are going to give it a try and you need assistance, feel free to let me know.
Good luck !

Re: Korg Poly-61 replacement keyboard
Thanks for the suggestion, I've tried grommets, glueing graphite disks, and replacing the contacts themselves, I'm not sure I want to keep playing with this issue over and over again. I have to try to find an adaptable keybed to put an end to this. wonder if any of the older casio's or other older types would be adaptable with not too much modifications.
