Hi,
Anyone here have any experience with a Peavey ShowFEX effects processor?
I pick up a used one and It's not outputting any audio.
When I first got it, it just had ***BYPASSED*** displayed and would let me use any of the buttons or data wheel.
After doing a factory reset, I'm able to select effects and edit them. I can see the audio signal coming in using the level lights but it will not pass audio to the outputs.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
The manual doesn't offer any troubleshooting steps.

Hi ,
I never heard of this signal processor but I had 2 peavey effects units that had leaky batteries which damaged the pcbs.
Did you check the battery ?

Hi @Yekuku,
I did open it up and it looks like the battery did leak.
Is this what your processors looked like?

Re: Peavey ShowFEX
Classic Peavey stuff!
No , my case was worst, I had to replace quite a handful of components to get it working.
You are lucky , it seems that there is no severe damage.
Remove battery , clean with q tips and vinegar , replace battery and restore factory defaults.
Warning the battery is rechargeable, replacing it with a cr2032 wont do.
Do all these and if you still dont have sound, come back and post high resolution pics of the affected area.
Edit: while you are there , measure the voltage from the battery using a multimeter

Thanks @Yekuku
I'm going to order one of these chips.
It claims to be a memory chip that does not require a battery to save your patches.

After I get that replaced, I'll start with the cleaning. I'll keep you updated.
